Hot water and soap can cause injury
April 23, 2014
Personal injury compensation claims often arise out of everyday activities. We recently recovered compensation for a client injured in a shower at a golf club in Kent.
Our client had played a round with his golf society and was showering after playing. The water temperature suddenly became scalding hot so he wasn’t able to rinse himself off properly. As he tried to get out of the shower to avoid the hot water, he slipped and fell heavily hitting his back on the edge of the cubicle and his head on the floor. It turned out that the same thing had happened to other players so soap had built up on the floor of the cubicle making it dangerously slippery.
The golf club was aware of the problem but had done nothing about it so liability was admitted very quickly and our client received compensation for his injuries.
